How many people make so so expensive handbags??

Seems like everyone and their grandma around with Coach, LV and Gucci bags – I mean, I see them everywhere! These bags are hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars? How is everyone in a position to afford such expensive bags? Are some of them knock-offs? I have a modest Size Gucci and I had to save for a while, and it's just my husband and I (no children) and we have a six figure income. Where is the problem?
