I am Italian and would like to get a bargain bag an exquisite Italian. Help!?

I will be traveling to Italy with the Nice via train and end with a flight from Rome. Is it realistic to get a quality construction with high-fashion leather handbag for under $ 300 in Italy? I'm not quite the idea a particular brand (I like married Tod's Channel, YSL, Marc Jacob and that), but I would be a good quality leather and a large size as. I would be okay with a non-famous brand, if it was good quality and a beautiful style. I'm pretty cheap on my wallet as a rule, and $ 300 is a lot for me, but I know that the designer bags go for several thousand. What can I expect to pay? What brands to look for? Where can I go?
